Handling Database Corruption Through Exchange Database Recovery

The MS Exchange database is often struck by corruption problems that cause the database to become inaccessible. Its corruption results in the user getting fatal error messages whenever he tries to access the database. Crucial data becomes unavailable and there is the danger of loss of important data as every application is aborted. The situation demands recovering and repairing the damaged or corrupt EDB files. It is best to conduct this Exchange database recovery with a trusted and effective third party Exchange recovery software.

One of the services that are affected by the corruption is the MS Exchange Transport Service. It is the network service that is responsible for STMP & transport stack. Attempting to start the service on MS Exchange Server 2007 might sometimes return the following event:
‘’Product Name: Exchange
Product Version: 8.0 (Exchange Server 2007)
Event ID: 17003
Event Source: MS Exchange Transport
Alert Type: Critical Error

Description: A Transport database operation has encountered a fatal error. The database may be corrupted. The Microsoft Exchange Transport Service is shutting down. Manual database recovery or repair may be required.
One of the reasons for the above-mentioned problem can be the Extensible Storage Engine or ESE database corruption. This usually happens when the Edge Transport Server/hub Transport Server contains the corrupted database that is serving as message queue database or Content Filtering database. Resolution to the issue is available in the ways mentioned below:

·         You may delete the entire corrupted database as well as the transaction logs concerned. However, this is not advisable if the data is very important.
·         If deletion is not possible, then the database should be repaired. For this, ensure that you are not running the Exchange Transport Service and start the Isinteg.exe to repair the database.

Isinteg.exe does not provide favorable results in all situations. Therefore, it might prove ineffective in this case too. The last resort for you then would be a good Exchange to Outlook Conversion software. The tool performs a comprehensive scan of the EDB files using highly advanced scanning techniques. It then goes on to import EDB to PST recovering the mails with all their objects and properties.

From among the different available Exchange database recovery tools, an excellent choice is the Quick Recovery for EDB to PST. It is powerful, secure, reliable and convenient software to import EDB to PST format that makes the data easily available in MS Outlook. The software employs the unique Guided File Excavation Technology (GFETch) for making the Exchange to Outlook conversion. It makes use of extensive algorithms for analyzing and recovering the database .edb and .stm files. The converter is capable of saving even zipped attachments and images in every format. It saves all the items in separate folders. The tool provides a simple to understand GUI that enables even users without technical expertise to implement the software easily. The user is offered a preview of the recoverable mailbox files before the files are saved in the PST form. This EDB to PST converter is compatible with MS Outlook 2000, 2002, 2003, 2007 & 2010, and MS Exchange 2003, 2007 & 2010.
